Ok I have an idea....

How about a small gtg at, say Mark Cummins' house (that ok Mark? ), have our resident Greek man show up, do the job for me, I'll pay you and take you out for dinner. What do you say? (Mark is in Huntington Beach).

Honestly, me and electronics, it's like... water and oil.

Sounds good but I won't be able to make it out there for another couple of weeks as I am still working in Atlanta. Let me know if you can wait or come see me in the SFV and I'll do it for you...

This saved me from fishing the wires through the door and frame.
You are correct E, I just didn't want to use it in case I wanted run and extra tweeter there.

No problem Doc.

Just ran through the text in this thread and have some comments...

Mike, I did not say the seats needed to be removed for blinking mirrors...they need to be removed for folding mirrors.

Oldstyle mirror motors do fit in newstyle mirrors BUT the glass will sit decentral afterwards...the auto dimming driverside hardly fits in a blinking mirror with oldstyle mirror motor - be aware of that.

Instead of running wires through your W210 door, one will be much easier of by using the already present green and yellow wire in the 8pin oval connector pos 5 and pos 6 that are to be found in almost every US spec W210...these wires are used for folding mirrors and run from the mirror to the bottom of the A-pillar where they stay unconnected...using these wires will save a lot of time.

greetingz,

greetingz,
DOH! I thought you had to take the seats out for any bling bling mirrors, regardless of the folding features or not. Thanks for the tip Steve.

Hey guys,

I have finally got a pair of these mirrors to install on my W202.

My first problem is getting the mirror cover off the W210 mirror! How do you do this? My W202 mirrors were easy to remove, like in the above posts how you push the clip away from the plastic housing with a screwdriver.

But these W210 mirrors seem impossible to remove without being mounted to a car as you can't see the insides well enough while all my fingers are in there holding it open!

There must be a way lol.

Finally removed the covers! I used a long cylindrical wedge (the middle of a steel pen) and wedged the mirror open by putting the little teeth on the mirror that touch eachother into each side of the cylinder. Then just pulled down on the clip!

ahh okay these mirrors are coming along slowly. I need to find the W202 Male mirror plug to fit onto the W202 5 pin female plug pictured below.

Someone on another forum posted up a picture of the plug I needed with a part number but I ordered this part number and the plugs I got were not the ones in the picture. 6 pin, 3 on top and 3 on bottom where the ones I need are 5 in a row.

I found another picture of a plug that would fit and got the part number off the plug but I called the dealership and this plug is not in stock in any of the warehouses like germany singapore etc. The part number for this out of stock plug is 013 545 9028 but I had no luck finding it.

So does anyone have the part number for the W202 mirror side male plug?

(This is the female plug I need the male that fits into this)

thanks.
