2002 E55 AMG
Please explain: "Pimped Benz's"? I paid almost $80,000 for this baby! What more could I possibly do to it that would make it look any better than it already is! It's gorgeous already!<G> Otto

pimped benzes, i mean stuff like body kits, some nice rims, anything making your benze different from every other one on the street.

I live in the Austin TX. area; have owned 2 AMG's (current 2002 E55 AMG) and in 5 years have _never_ seen another E55 AMG! E55's _especially_ are a rare sight! I think in 2002 they sold (according to my dealer) around 500<?>..nationwide! I don't think I have to worry 'bout seeing another one next to me at a light anytime soon! Also..the E55 already has a body kit from AMG compared to the standard E430! Thanks for the suggestions though!<G> What do you drive by the way? Otto

Otto:
you must be driving the silver E55 that I have spotted downtown Austin and on 183. I think that is the only one I have seen.
I drive a 1997 E420, plenty fast for me - it has gotten me to 130 several times with complete authority...

Ja..probably me you saw!<G> I bought my 2002 E55 at Continental Cars in Austin, and as far as I know managed to snag one of the very few that they were allocated! I've never seen another one; hell..I've only seen 1 other AMG in years and years and that was a C36 AMG driven by some 90 year old dude!<G> See you on the byways here in Austin (I'll be the one going the speed limit..damn..I couldn't stand to take another one of those online driver
ed courses to get rid of a ticket!<G>).

i only drive on the weekends but here in boston i see at least two other amg's per weekend. and they're usually other E55's. it definitely sounds like there are a lot more amg's out on the west coast, which makes sense given the weather conditions. i've found that when it's below 40 out and the road is even damp i have to really watch what i'm doing.

Otto,
Watch out for 360 - I got stopped there for going over the 55 limit - keeping with traffic at 78.
I feel my car got singled out, the next car to get pulled over with a BWM 5series . . .

i understand you have anice benz there. Im no trying to say your unoriginal or anything because i know your car is very rare. but i am talking about the types of benzes i see every day in my hometown. I dont see many AMG's or anything, but i see a lot of C, E, and S classes and was originally inquiring about anyone who may have added a little to these cars to make them rare like yours. I didnt mean for you to feel that your amg is jstu an everyday thing or anything because they truly arent. And by the way, I drive a 1998 Audi A6 and am in college just waiting to buy my first benze and was looking for any ideas i could use possibly when i get one of my own. Take it easy.
