"Hidden" Tricks for our W210's?
I've been browsing threads here at MBWorld and have come across some pretty cool nice to have's that are seemingly "hidden" in our e's such as the tunnel mode that will close all windows automatically by hitting the recirc button on the ac panel, even the sun roof that doesn't have one-touch close. I hadn't heard about this and was wondering if there are any others???

Other function too.
You got my curiosity, so I searched this forum for "tunnel mode". I found info on the CLK forum, apparently, if you windows are open, along with the sunroof, you hold the "recirc" button down, some need to hold it down for, as long as, 4 seconds. The windows will raise and the sunroof will shut. If you hit the "recirc" again, the windows and roof will return to the same position. I have a '99 E320, it did not seem to work.
While I was in the car, I held down most of the buttons on the A/C panel for more than 4 secs. I turned the air on and off, but the tunnel mode did not seem to work.
But, when I held the "rest" button down, the LCD display changed, no longer did the left/right temp settings show. On the left, a "1" appeared and on the right, a two digit number appeared. As I drove around with the AC on, the right numbers appear to be the "real time" interior temperature. The numbers started at "71" and progressively came down to "67" with the AC on.
This has probably been found or posted before, but it is new to me.

rob lee

Sorry I didn't clarify this....but yes, apparently on some models, including E, you can hit the recirc button and press for 4 seconds and everything closes up. This may or may not work with your car but apparently you can take it to the dealer to have this activated. I'll copy this link when I get a chance.

".....Well, I did some experimenting today and I got my sunroof to work in tunnel mode. Hopefully you guys will not have as much of a problem getting your dealer to turn this on, because it is something that should be enabled anyway.
Here are the instructions for the DAS computer that they have at the dealer:
Go to Control Units --> Body --> Overhead Control Panel(OCP) --> Control Unit Adaptations --> Read coding & change if necessary --> Modular Roof
On the modular roof screen, set "Automatic closing function" to "Active" and that should do it.
Good Luck....."
Wonder if it will work with E's.....
