2000 E320 Trunk does not open
2000 E320 Trunk does not open
Greetings I am a new member and am having a little trouble with my car. I am unable to open the trunk either with the internal switch or remote. I have verified several fuses that I think are related are not blown. There is no mechanical sound and no lamp lit on the switch. Any tips would be appreciated
As Plutoe said, check your metal key. (I'm assuming it should work better than mine.
I believe there is a vacuum system involved - I seem to remember someone telling me about that when I was looking at E320's before I bought mine. Someone with more knowledge will surely either correct or corroborate my thoughts.

Re-read the section in your manual about manually locking the trunk. You can lock it with the key so that the fob (and internal button) don't work. I'd suspect that's what happened. The vertical position is "unlocked", meaning the trunk can be opened by pushing the lock in if the doors are unlocked (it locks with the doors). Turning one way locks it (as noted above), and the other direction opens it manually with the key, I think. (My key doesn't work, so I haven't bothered to remember this part.)
