Body Kits

In the begining of summer i ordered Carlsson body kit for my 1999 E 430 from Autowerksexpress and like 2 weeks ago they called me that they can not get it for me that Carlsson is picking who is going to be their distributor in US now i dont know what should i do i foud two kits that i like and they are similar to Carlsson, they are WALD and AUTOCOULTURE both of them are custom made in Japan and the price is similar the only think i dont like about them is that they are made of fiberglass and for this material they are expensive ($3400) plus shiping. What you guys think should i get it or wait for Carlsson. I'm scared about fitment of those two kits since they are fiberglass.
Thanx
Hubert

Well, Carlsson is fiberglass too.. so......

At this time, I believe Carlsson bodykit is really difficult to get. Well, you know that already since you are having problem with the order placed 2 weeks ago. I believe I saw a thread that Jimmydagreek has a front bumper for sale, so if you are in hurry then that's probably your best bet since it is available *NOW*. In my opinioin, the best part of Carlsson bodykit is just the front bumper, so you are not missing too much and I wouldn't worry too much about the side skirt and rear for now.

Of course, Autocoutoure & WALD are wonderful choices as well. They are also my favorites for 210, but then as you know it's pretty expensive!!

There's also Brabus but then everone has them. hahah.

Thanks W420! Yes, I do have one for sale BRAND NEW including primer, paint and shipping. There has been some lengthy discussion about it and so far I'm still on top. Please look at this thread if you're interested and PM me for details. I'm negotiable.

Hey, that almost looks like mine except for a few things that I did different and I don't have a sunroof (much lighter and more head room). Springs have to be cut though because it's way too low in the front, unless he changes his spring pads. I have the same suspension components and I sit a bit higher...

He is asking a lot of money for it though but it does have very low miles. I am going to be asking under $20K for mine but I have over double the miles and mine still looks new. Did a lot of engine work on mine though so it runs like new. Will go over 300k miles easy with the work I did.

Oh no, no, no, I would never want to leave you guys. I will be working on my best friends new E500 as she is giving it to me to customize slowly as I like (can't wait). I am also planning on another E class or a new C Class for my fiance in the near future. I just need a truck or large SUV really bad for work and I can't afford it along with my Benz. I guess we'll just have to see what happens, but I'll still be around. Thanks for the concern brotha...

You mean a Benz wagon?! I would be too afraid of putting anything in it. I need something that I don't have to worry about scratching or getting dirty but that still has some integrity. Maybe a Chevy Crewcab 4X4 (new body). We'll see...

Save all your mods of your 420 and find a hotness E wagon.... If you are that concerned about scratching your E I don't see how different it would be if you had a truck or SUV..... It's in your blood to care for your vehicles like that

I don't know about that. I care less about my truck than my car. I don't put nearly the same effort into modding or cleaning my truck as my car. I bought it to haul stuff, get dirty and banged up! It's Ford Tough!.

Didn't realise you have broken this shocking news. Man, that's a real pity Jimmy. People come and go for whatever reason but recently it seems there's more and more regulars leaving here. Today we heard news of Scott's tragic (but must say, lucky) loss and move to the BMW crowd. Alex is speaking of the move as well. With the W211, you'll be on a separate board and its not the same when its not your own car. Anyway, thanks for all your help in the past. You will be missed but I hope Scott's experience will change your mind....good luck!

Thanks Whitey, regardless if I sell my car or not, I will still keep in touch with all of you as I love this forum. I am also planning another Benz in the near future for my fiance. I am thinking of a c-class or maybe a new E class, either way, I plan to stay in touch. As I said earlier, my best friend just purchased a new E500 that I will start on as soon as I get back home so that will be my new project. Talk to you soon, gotta go back to work...
