Compressor not kicking in

1998 E320.. AC very intermittent. It may work in morning but not afternoon, or it may work for 2-3 weeks and then not work. When it's not working, it seems to kick in 1-3 minutes and then stop.

Compressor is not kicking in... I thought test of clutch was jumping plug by dryer, but that is not working. I'd like to try to, of course diagnose and fix prob. but can someone tell me how to hard wire clutch compressor

I've read of a compressor switch and klima switch. Can someone tell me how to locate and test these? I've also read of thermostat or CC unit, but I'd think because of how intermittent it is, it may more likely be a relay.

Freon is good, aux fan replaced , duovalve checked.

Any input is appreciated

Do the actual value test(which shows faults)-----see stickies and post the data!

Don't jump any thing you will ruin your system----where did you read such crap!!

I ran diagnostics a few weeks ago before I replaced aux fan and got (this is while AC compressor was not engaged)
Here are codes I got ....
1 37
2 35
3 23
4 23
5 42
6 86
7 24
8 26

Fault codes were (they all cleared)

E FF (I understand that is not a fault)
EB1 227
EB1 231
EB1 231
EB1 232
EB1 234
EB1 416
EB1 459

I ran test just now (but compressor is engaged right now and everything seems adequate- a hour ago I did not have cold air)

1 25
2 38
3 11
4 11
5 52
6 93
7 16
8 55

Fault codes are
E FF
EB1 232
EB1 416

Grateful for any direction

The important fault to fix is 232 that showed up in both tests, which is a confirmation that your refrig pressure sensor has failed.

fault 416 also showed up twice, which is a faulty heater coolant recirculation pump---therefore you have lost that heating feature.

Never jump anything on the car!!!!!

Thanks. Is the refrig pressure the plug on the drier? Will I have to evacuate and recharge system?

Not to run the car that way, but just to diagnose shouldn't jumpering that plug be a test to see if clutch activates?

Thanks again. I'm ordering the part now.
