Should be okay but easiest way to check is to go to the TireRack website and plug in your car info. Under alternative sizes (oversize and other) input the size you want to install. Also, you can check the circumference of the two sizes on a tire size indicator to see if there will be any issues with your traction control/stability system or speedo reading. I think 4% is max but I try to shoot for 1% or less. Of course, if you are replacing all 4 you'll only have the speedo issue.

you speedo will be reading faster than actual....your odo will pile on the miles
quicker than real life (not too much) . but should be okay and give you a little
extra room to toss on cable/chains if needed.

They will be 11mm smaller in diameter, the tyre walls will be lower...because the 55 is the aspect ratio and the tyre wall is 55% of the width...so a lower width gives a lower wall.
