looking at buying an e320 with 147k miles on it for 3500 dollars. car is in pretty good shape but the miles kind of scare me. the guy I'm buying it from takes excellent care of his cars so that is the only reason why I am considering buying his. have a smart car right now but have to get rid of it because drivers in atlanta can't drive worth **** nor do they respect smart car drivers. but my question is how many miles can you get out of a good taken care of e320? are they a mantainance nightmare or really good in that aspect. I am a former audi owner and refuse to buy an audi again after all the issues I had with my TT and a4.

I just bought a '98 e320 with 128k, so will be watching along with you for any useful info. Love the car so far, but with bad weather where I live, have not had it out very much, hope to change that soon.

I have 160k on my e320 with very minimal problems. Be sure hes done the head gasket replacement and regular service intervals. If you service these cars correctly, they will last forever.
