Here's some info from the new issue of Auto Week on the (end of summer) new and updated for 2003 MBNZ E-Class:
1). Great Pic on the cover; Article Headline reads:
"Oh Lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz?"
Subtitle reads:"If he did, chances are it would be an E!"
2).Redesign took 4 years and cost $2 Billion.
3). Brake by Wire System called Sensotronic Brake Control, and the Airmatic air suspension system.
4).All E-Class models a get new 4-link front and mult-link rear susp. setup.
The 2 new (5 in Europe) E's will be called the E320 and the E500.
5). Styling wise, the new models keep the familiar E headlights, but the rest of th car looks much more C32 and S like.
6). Horsepower will be: E320..215HP 3-valve-per cylinder V-6, while the new E500 will get the bigger 302HP 5 Liter V-8..that's 27 more horses than the outgoing E430.
Rumor mill has it that the new E55 AMG might get a Supercharged V-8 putting out close to 400HP!?!? Otto

SL55 Blown V8?
I had heard the new SL55 AMG has the supercharged V8, and I thought it was more like 450 hp and 500 lb-ft of twist. I would assume (or hope) that the next E55 would have the same set-up.
Is there such a thing as too fast?

2017 GLE 350 4MAtic, 2001 E55 AMG (SOLD)
New supercharged 5.5l AMG engine:
- 469hp 479lb/ft torque supercharged 5.5l AMG engine
- 14.2" 8 piston brakes
- 208mph top speed but (GET THIS) no road tires exist that can go this fast so it's limited to 186mph

and this car weighs 4100+ lbs!
if the new e class is about the same weight as current E (3700lbs)
We will be eating Z06's, M5s, M3s, 911 turbos for breakfast, lunch and dinner
