Question Climate control blower delay on cold days

I am getting conflicting information from the dealer and someone at MBUSA.

When I start my car cold days, with the climate control set on auto, the blower immediately starts blowing cold air on speed three, with no delay at all.

The dealer says it should step up slowly as the engine warms up however someone at MBUSA said they did away with this feature as many owners thought something was wrong with their heat. My previous MB's all had a delay feature and I find it hard to believe they would do away with this.

Does anyone in a cold region have a W210 with a blower which delays until the engine warms up?

Thanks.
