Thumbs up 2001 E55 Tires (W210)

Does anyone know what the factory tire size is and which brand of tire it came with? I have a 2001 E320w with Monoblock II's on.

Thanks for anyone's input.

TJ.

Most W210's were sold with 16" (7 1/2 J x 16 H2 ET41) and 215/55 R16 93H Michelin or Continental. 17" was an optional oversize. At some point (W211?) 17" became the std and 18" the upgrade. Assuming the wheels were factory standard (VIN data card) you can go to Tirerack and check on sizes for current tires since the ones that came on the car new are probably no longer made. Start by pulling a wheel and looking on the back for the size and offset (ET).

I have the monoblocks on and the "stock" size would be 245/40R18 and 275/35R18...I believe. This would keep the rolling diameter the same so speedo won't read fast or slow.

I run 235/40R18 up front and "stock" rear size.

Stock tire brand will require a bit more research.

Find a tire size calculator and see what sizes would be best for you.

On mine, it's mentioned on the Tire Pressure Placard on the Driver's Side Doorsill.

In the owners manual supplied with my car, which includes the E55, it says (as in the post above):

235/40 18 and 265/35 18.

If others say differently it's because they know better than me and Mercedes Benz.

Michelin stock and dunlop optional where stock tires in USA, though I never saw an E55 with Dunlops fitted. 245/40/18 and 275/35/18 front and rear respectively for US cars

'Murica spec FTW

Got worried there for a second, was pretty sure that those were the specs. Didn't know EU had different spec.
