03 E500 noise while idling?

03 E500 noise while idling?
hi everyone,
my mothers 03 E500(only 500 miles on it) sounds a little like a small diesel while it is idling.
i've read some posts concerning the motor mounts being defective but i'm not sure this would make this noise. i have an 02 ML500 with the same motor and it doesn't sound like this. other than the odd noise at idle the car is much better than the past generation E. any help would really be appreciated.

About the noise, does it sound like a sewing machine and when the engine warm up the noise go away. If so it could be the purge value. Read about this if may apply to your car.

I seem to recall this was a problem in some of the W210's as well. I read a saw a post while back but I agree with Corp DL, this is the wrong forum - try posting in the W211 one, u might have a more appropriate response
