REVERSE LIGHTS NOT WORKING
I got a 2002 E320 Sedan recently and found out that the reverse lights do not come on when reversing. How do I go about fixing this?

Well you have two ways to go----the correct way or the wag way!
The correct way is to find someone with DAS Xentry who can quickly determine if the gear selector lever control module is faulty, then simply clear the fault and replace the module.
The wild *** guess method, asks that you make active the passenger side mirror control----start the car---foot on the brake, place the shifter in R-----while watching the mirror, does the mirror move downward---a simple yes or no answer--post the answer and wait for the next wild *** guess response!!

The good news is that you just graduated from WAG class with flying colors.
The non movement of the mirror confirms that the mirror did not get the message that you are in R-----that message starts with the gear lever selector switch.
That also substantiates the fact that your rear lamps are not getting the message that you are in R.
What does all this HS mean---you have a faulty gear selector control module.
The bad news is that I have never replaced one without erasing the fault. I can't tell you what will happen if after you replace the module and you do not clear the fault !!

Your diploma is in the mail, however you amaze me because in two posts I told you what was causing the fault---typically upon receiving that information the owner of the car has to make a decision----fix or keep driving as is----what are you going to do???
