I found an amber LED that I loved to use as a city lamp but removed it because I could never figure out the correct resistor rating to install and hated the defective lamp message.

Here is a link to the LED's I bought...

I did have to grind off one of the tabs on the side of the bulb for it to fit properly. The amber LED looks mint and is very soft. I gotta find pix when I did have them installed there....

Steve, not perfect I agree but its better than having something that's neither colored or white...know what I mean? My existing ones are acceptable (kind of greyish with a slight yellow) but I want to be clearly different and seems white just cannot be achieved unless you put in something that has more umpth.

4 wheeled car.
Ok cheap way to do it: Why not just use a tint spray and tint the bulb itself, or use one of those "condom covers" that are colored and put one on?

Steve, I just bought those bulbs you spoke about in your original post. I looked and there only seemed to be 3 choices for the H6W, the Phillips, the Osram (both of which people said didnt make much of a difference ), and then this one, which the seller says are bluer than those other 2 anyways....they should be here this week and I will let everyone know.
Hopefully it will work, LED's just same like a pain, especially if the warning light comes on for the bulb being out....just not something you want to screw with in a $50-100k car.

I tried todfay the PIAA W5W. Great color match to xenon but much dimmer than OEM. Still looking.

after trying the philips h6w in the past, i went the cheap way on this and installed a bluish cover on the city lights that does improve the 'hue' of the lights. no longer yellow , and only the slightest loss of brightness. one side effect is when the city lights are off, the cover appears bluish , a slightly rice-y effect that may not fit all tastes , esp in certain colors. i like it on my black car though. i'll try to post pics this week. easy to install with a water/alcohol spray bottle and a hair dryer and a squeegie.
the stuff is called 'lamin-x' can be found on the web.

here's the site.

good luck , j.

The yellow covers might give me that yellow fog light look without bulbs that blow out all the time. But then again, converting them to xenon would be the ultimate, if I can get the convinence illumination feature disabled.

Mich, what's that?

BTW, you still haven't found the yellow bulbs yet? I think Philips make them and they sure are more reliable than the Asian products.

It's a "safety" or "convenience" feature where the parking lights and fog lights illuminate once the driver's door is closed after a joyful commute.

Load Equalizer for LED bulbs

Here's a load equalizer to be used for the LED lights.

http://www.formymercedes.com/mb_resu...lacement+Bulbs

Load Equalizer, 6 Ohm
#650

Since the LED bulbs draw such little current, our exclusive load equalizers are required for proper functioning with turn signal applications, as well as with vehicles equipped with a "Bulb Out" warning system. Without the Load Equalizer, the "Bulb Out" system senses that a bulb has been burnt out (because of the low current draw), when in fact it has not. Without the Load Equalizer paired the turn signals, the system will flash the turn signal bulbs very rapidly, for the same reasons.

Installation simply involves attaching the load Equalizers with the quick connectors which are supplied, with one wire attaching to the positive and the other to the ground

installation1
installation2

Note: Be careful where you install Load Equalizers since they get very hot. If they don't appear to be working, make sure the connectors have pierced through the insulation on the wires.

Very interested as well. Checked that hoen-usa.com website and their "xenonmatch" H6W is on backorder. Has anyone used them?

That formymercedes site sells the load equalizer, but doesn't sell an H6W kit for the W210.
