W210 E320
Lost one of my keys

i have a 2000 E320, and i lost one of the keys today at my school's parking lot. im afraid that another student picked it up and can now use mycar. shoudl i take my car to the dealer and get the keys changed? is this possible? will it cost a lot of money? thanks

You should definately get the computer ignition system changed and the keys....very expensive.

A smartkey itself costs $250 to replace already, so imagine the entire module.

no need to replace anything...

just bring ALL your keys for your E320, and have the dealer reprogram your car to ONLY accept the keys you brought in...

its very simple... probably no charge either...

They can do that? I thought that there was only one "code" per ignition module, like they only have 8 replacements per ignition and after the 8, you must replace the entire computer module and new codes.

There is a code for each key. They can eliminate the one that you lost. Should be cheap or even free if your dealer is cool.
