Stone chips that show some rust?

My W210 is a CA car from new, and is pretty damn clean anywhere you look, however, I have a couple stone chips on the car, and a few of them have a tiny bit of rust showing through from the chip (apparently chipped through the lovely water based paint and primer).

In terms of the best way to take care of these for the long run, I'm thinking of dabbing them with something like POR-15 and then touching up with primer/ paint.

Thoughts? I don't want to just cover the rust, but to stop this corrosion from going further.

It's best to sand away all traces of rust, then repaint. Stop by any decent car dealer and look for the used car manager. Ask him who they use for touch ups. Most dealers have a guy that comes around once a week and fixes chipped used cars on the lot. They can give you his number, or tell you when he'll be in next. Approach him for an estimate. It will be cheap, and if done right, long lasting and nearly invisible. Stick to decent car dealers though. The luxury car dealers will use a good service. The low end used car lots just pay some guy with a touch up pen.

This is actually a really good idea.... why didn't I think of this.....

Assuming the guy actually does sand down the rust traces, this is probably my best shot at a solid repair.

Like I say, stick to a good dealer. I work at a luxury car dealer (Not MB) and we have a guy that comes in and does a real good job. Gets rid of rust, paints the chip and clear coats it. When he's done, depending on how bad it was, it can look anywhere from much better to damn near invisible. Now, if you're talking about a sprawling patch of rust bubbling the paint, that's a job for a body shop. But just small chip thats started to rust the metal, the chip guys can make short work of that. Might even do a google search, you might find a guy in your area who caters to the public as well as car dealers.

Haha no no, this is just the occasional chip with a dab of rust in the center. I'd like to find a guy who can do this so that you can barely notice it
