NEWbie here

greetings everyone!
Had problems with the forums before..signed up twice with different emails, but the emails never came for me to activate my account. But I guess third time's the charm!

Just wondering whether it was still possible to put pictures on the threads..been dying to show the mods I've done to my E.

Any help will be appreciated!

Welcome to the family Carlsson9.

Since you've figured out how to put your sig pic on, the pics should be easy. Just host the pics you wanna post on the internet elsewhere and use the "IMG" function - tab on top of where you write your posts (since you're listed on benzworld, you may want to link to your pics there).

Where in Malaysia are you? I travel there quite often for work and been wanting to check out availability of parts and prices in Malaysia.

Thanks for the warm welcome whitey and MBZ12!
Yeah, managed to work out the signature thing..was searching the forum and found a thread that touches on the topic!

I'm in Kuala Lumpur Whitey. Parts are o plenty here, and i guess with the malaysian ringgit down, it could be pretty cheap. I'm actually sending my car in for service today to a shop called sportline, which sells original bits way cheaper then the Daimler Chrysler cause he deals direct with germany. Trust me, there's one thing malaysians love, its Mercedes..(right next to Beamers..:P)

Will be taking pics and posting them up after the car's been serviced.

Thks! But man! At RM3.5K for HIDs, may be I should bring some over to you You could almost fly to HK and get them for less....

Just check out my pics in benzworld (on the second page) for the Dronells I want (also Aristo's sig for another) - I'm just looking for a replacement. They're made in Japan but I've recently learnt they're actually an Indonesian brand. The one I want has apparently been discontinued so they're not on this site:

Dronell

No problema jimmydageek.. I've been noticing that you too have the carlsson kit. I honestly think its the best bodykit for the pre 99 W210s. Fell in love with it the first time i saw it..

will be posting pics after i get my one other azev rim fixed. I ran over a pot hole, and the lipped warped..was still there was internal cracking, so the thing had to be welded back..:/

it hurts.. but once i get it back, will take new pics of the car and will definietly post it up.

Whitey, how much are HID in HK? and what brand are they and where they are made?

Was trying to search for dronnels but noluck..now i know where i heard them from..the indonesians were crazy about them when i was studying in australia..they were bringing it **** loads of 18s and 19s , putting it on their rides over there (18 year old students mind you.) but they are sick rims..Will have to look out for them..if i see any, I'll let you know

Same here, I love the classy simple design. Also, not too many people have the full Carlsson rear bumper either. I need to take some new pics. of my ride and we'll exchange. Good luck on the wheel repair, darn potholes...

u were in Australia? Which part and when? I was there and my parents are there in Sydney.

HIDs range from about 2500 Hongkie to 12000 (expensive ones with projectors) and there are many brands including Philips, Osram, McCulloch as well as Taiwanese and Japanese ones. I think the philips ones are in the middle.

Carlsson is an overpriced, crappy brand with stupid designs....just kidding

I agree jimmy..the carlsson kit is sweet..specially the subtle skirt and cool behind..i actually cracked it a month after putting it on, and had to replace it with the original bumper for a few days..big diff!!! wasn't used to the crappy stock bumper anymore.. :P

but got the kit at a bargain..i hear , due to the euro pumping up, they're worth something like RM20,000! :P
and if you can find the originals of course..; )

Whitey, i was in adelaide for six year..at that time i was driving a S13 Nissan Silvia..big change now don't you think?

Hmm..rough calculations shows the price in HK is bout the same..again depending on brand i guess...

But i have to agree that Carlsson has been coming out with pretty sub par designs for the post 99..no full kits, but just lips..which sucks..

I like FAB and the Fabulous kit for the W211...the Fabulous kit for the W210 is also sickening!

well, can only dreammm..:P

I actually don't have the Carlsson side skirts. I personally wanted even more of a subtle enhancement for the really clean look so I experimented with a couple of different ones and liked the MY00+ non-AMG sides skirts. I think they go perfectly with the Carlsson front and rear bumpers and I get a lot of props. on them. My pics. are floating around here somewhere. Do a search on Carlsson front bumper and you should come across my thread.
