I wasn't happy w/ the sound my RBtech produced outside. It could've been a bit deeper. Knocked the resonator out, had a custom X pipe made, and voila! It's good!

Congrats and glad you're pleased mang.

Did you notice any improvement in response and power as well? How much for the custom job? I paid about US$100.

Not sure about fuel efficiency cos I had it done just as it was getting cooler. hence less AC. Some say it drinks more juice, some say less?????? dunno yet. Gut feel is there's not much difference, I may tend to be more heavy footed now so I could hear the sweet new sounds

Btw, will this affect smog by anyway? Would hate to fail and have to switch it all back again...

I mean when it's time to have the car "Smog Certified" for the registration through the DMV. Will it pass the emissions tests? CA is pretty strict on this *****...

The car should pass smog without a problem, as you did not modify the smog control equipment. Once you start removing the catalytic converters is when you can get into trouble.

So basically you're saying that the resonator serves no purpose, it's possibly just for noise reduction???

Well that **** is loud I tell you that. It scares people

Probably the loudest I'd EVER go on a Benz. I'll see what others think when they see it in person.

Interior drowning could potentially be a bit annoying... Who knows... maybe I'll slap some other resonator on. We'll see.
