Hood tab broken - How to open it?
We have had two major snow storms in a week here in Boston.

I just dug out my 1997 E420. I have a misfire and a check engine as well as warning about engine electronics.

It seems someone backed into the grill and broke that pull tab to open the hood.

How do I get it open? I can see a gray broken tab pushed up. I tried maneuvering it. Nothing.

Scan tool say P0300 and P0306 - Random and cyl 6 misfire but they went away after warming. Whew.

cut the grill out as you will have to replace it anyway,however before doing that make sure your insurance agent knows what you will be doing!!
