2000 E320 just died sitting in traffic (not CPS)

Sitting in traffic waiting to make left hand turn car just shut down. One flicker then nothing could not even turn on hazard lights as I had no power. fifteen seconds later had power then tried to re-start just one slight crank with dimming lights. Felt like I had a dead battery as it was a heavy draw to crank engine. Pushed car out of traffic then on side of road friend tried to jumper car no luck. Car still acted like it had no juice checked all battery cables and CB's. Funny thing it felt like I had no power when starting but all light systems worked along with radio, WSW, etc. Had car towed to my garage started TS last night. Removed battery had it tested at autozone battery checked good 65% power had it fully charged then put back in car. Tried to start this time it started with very heavy pull ran very poorly for a few seconds then shut down. Went under hood to check for anything obvious as it smelled like something was burning. Was not able to do anymore last night.

Car has 130K It is a daily driver with no problems where I do 80 miles round trip to work. I'm the original owner never had any problems with this car other than changing AC unit 10 years ago and changing the CPS six months ago. Any suggestions please.

Assuming you have checked the obvious fuses and relays, the next step is checking the fuel rail sensors, how you do that without the diagnostic tools is beyond me!!

Now I'm really confused. Came home from work looked around engine bay and checked fuses and relays found nothing new. Got in turned key and car started right away like nothing had ever happened. Let run for awhile then got bold and drove car around the corner with no problem. WTH! Don't trust it but what else can I check for at this point.
