How to turn off EC lamp enabling refrigerant refill
I have read many posts where the OP's are advising they can't turn off the AC controller EC lamp button,
which takes the compressor out of safety mode, and allows for refilling.
If they read the attached older Technical Service Bullitin and follow the prescribed process for turning off the EC lamp---they will be able to start the refill process!!

Plutoe,
This is great information. Must the compressor be out of safety mode in order to properly recharge the AC system?
I have recently given up on recharging my system because after about a month it no longer blows cold. I realize I probably have some type of a leak, but if its not being properly filled then I'm wondering how much longer it can last after a proper fill.

Yes the EC lamp must not be lit, allowing the compressor to function and therefore accept a charge!!
The goal is 15 Bar at idle---as that valve goes down(because of a leak) so goes the cooling!!
PS: The above assumes that the compressor is able to make pressure!!
