98 w210 not equipped with power steering?

when I turn the wheel it feels as if there is no power steering. I looked online and every thing I find is saying here should be a power steering pump reservoir next to the washer fluid tank but there isn't one? How do I check my steering?

You have a power steering pump in that location, unless you live in a bad area and someone stole yours.

However if I were you I would wait till the sun comes up and try harder or ask your grandson they find and fix everything!!

I do not live in a bad area. This is my first Mercedes. When I search the Internet for the location of the power steering pump and fluid reset up it shows that it is located directly to the left of the washer fluid reservoir. I am not uneducated on vehicles and obviously know what I'm looking for. However my engine does not have this type of steering system as far as I'm aware of. My manual also doesn't state ANYTHING about steering besides what to do if the steering wheel locks up.

I'm asking this question in search of an educated opinion from someone with experience with this type of vehicle.

the reservoir is located directly on top of the power steering pump (upper most pulley on the drivers side of engine is the power steering pump). you will need to lift off the engine cover to remove the black cap.

If your car did not have power steering (which it most definitely does) you would find it almost impossible to turn the steering wheel at stand still.

In fact try this...turn the steering wheel with the engine off, and then with the engine on...is there a difference?

The estates (wagons) have the reservoir next to the washer fluid bottle...not the saloons (sedans).

Should be there on the lower right once you remove the cover. Between the oil filter and washer bottle.

I see exactly what you're talking about. The one in the far right lower corner. I promise I'm not blind or illiterate in any way when I say this, but I do not have that reservoir installed on my car at all.

+1 that was my question. it has to be a wagon (T210) which will have the p/s reservoir next to the washer reservoir.
