Maintenance costs?

New to the forum, and potentially new to the MB family. I am considering buying a MY 2000 E320 4matic Wagon with 41k miles on it, and am looking for some advice/info on what I can expect to pay for maintenance over the next few years. It is Starmarked, and I would get the 2 year additional warranty on top of that, but I understand maintenance wouldn't be covered under that. Edmunds says to expect $1000-2000 a year for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance over the next five years, does that sound right? I'm unfamiliar with the MB maintenance schedule of "Service A," "Service B," etc. Does MB not have 30,000, 45,000, 60,000 mile schedules? What do "Service A" and "Service B" cost?

I appreciate any responses.

at the local merecedes benz dealer, the service "A", which is pretty much just a glorifed oil change, runs about $300....service "B", which I think, in my opinion, is just another glorified oil change (but i believe they also change some liquids...dun know exactly which ones) ran me $700 last time.

i found a local, non-dealer shop that will do the service "A" for $100, and "B" for $300.

Cool, I've got a local mechanic who I trust, that can do those. I can live with that second set of numbers. Thanks for the info

Houston, be sure to expect a significant cost at your 60K service as well. Depending on whether you choose to trust MB that you never have to change the transmission/differential fluid, that service can run you 1300 - 2000 dollars.

Yeah, I know that with any car the 60k service is a big one.
