1998 w210 e320. Sometimes when I go to start it, nothing happens. It seem to do everything to recognize the key but nothing happens at start. I can do this a few times and sometimes if I do it quickly it'll start. Sometimes it'll start 1st turn.

I've seen issues where it wasn't recognizing the key and cleaning the socket would help. I'm not sure that's the problem here.

Ideas? TIA!

You either have a failing ignition module, a K40\2 or K40\4 relay!!----how to test--find someone, besides yourself, who knows about the early W210 starting circuit!!

If its the ignition module, can you buy one used if it comes with keys?

I stand corrected, however without the chip software\experience to modify the donor module VIN to the cars VIN you will never repeat never start the car---MB aint that stupid!!---However

There are folks on the internet who claim they can do that---I would make damn sure that you get references!!

Then after all that what will you do about the old steering lock module and the used ignition module!!

Find the fault first before before you start jumping to all sorts of expensive conclusions!!
