High Mileage Muffler Delete?
Hey everyone, this is my first Mercedes, previous cars include an e34, e39, and 4th gen Prelude, now daily driving a 97 E420, really enjoying it. Got a few issues sorted out from who I bought it from, car has been running very well, now my question is, would it be safe to delete the muffler on the car while it has upwards of 250,000 miles on it? I know it is fine on newer cars, just wanted to hear some opinions! Thanks!
(And yes I am aware there are multiple threads relating to muffler deletes, but could not find any specific to higher mileage cars)

Just the resonator will make it a bit louder. Sound a little bit more beefy. With a V8 id start with resonator delete, then cat delete if not satisfied with the sound, then headers...Headers would make a huge difference.

Resonator delete was less than impressive. Deeper tone but nearly just as quiet. I'm going to take it to a shop. Which do you think is better, keeping it two pipes throughout, or joining at a y for a single pipe the rest of the way, after the secondary cats. I drove it with open exhaust for a while today (just cats) it sounded awesome, very VERY loud, but still that empty pipe sound.
