Wagon tailgate not locking
Happy Thanksgiving!
I have a 2001 e320 4matic wagon with the tailgate not locking or unlocking by remote, all other doors lock fine. I took off the tailgate cover and can hear a hissing sound when operating the remote, suspecting a bad actuator...It's very hard to get to inside the tailgate, any write ups on this repair? I can't find any for the wagon tailgate specifically, only one on lubricating the system which I tried with no improvement. Do you have to remove the wiper motor / assembly to get to the actuator? It looks very crammed in there...
Which actuator is used for the tailgate, same as the front or rear doors?
