My E320 has 154k miles and it's never been changed. Do many of you change your gear oil? I'm thinking of doing it this week. I changed the oil on my Jeeps front and rear differentials and the transaxle this weekend and I'm thinking of doing my MB as well
I did mine a couple of weeks ago. There is a good DIY on the other forum.

Sold 2 of W210 this year, both with 266k miles on each and most likely both with factory differential oil.
I check the level on them and was OK with the old oil.
MB consider it lifetime item, but then -don't think they consider 400,000 miles life those cars can reach.
When you have high-mileage 15 years old car, it is sure good idea to replace the differential oil, but don't split a hair over it.
