I Use Porterfield Pads..They are a Low dust and Dont Chew up the rotors.Several sites sell drilled rotors done.....
Porterfield is located in CostaMesa CA
I Would recommend to have the Brake rotors Treated ala Cyro Treatment Makes Them Last up to three times longer.Porterfield also does The Treatment in house.
Then a cad plate finish to help prevent rust on the Hub area
I Did Mine Three Years ago and They Still look like new

S, GL, Escalade ESV, my shoes
I use PBR Deluxe, ordered from FastLane. No dirt whatsoever. Before, I have to clean the rim almost on weekly basic (but ususally it takes only a day or two for it to get dirty again, especially since I have chromed rims).
Now, no dirt, no noise, and the car stops on a dime.

You can Take ANY Brake Rotor to Porterfield and Have Them Treat it.
Takes a couple of days..I Would Call Porterfield For Prices
Porterfield 949 548 4470

I have to agree,Porterfield pads are the way to go.Just had B service and with the R4S pads on twice as long as the Pagids, they show less than 1/3 the wear.

Well I have not been very happy with the Porterfields. I have gone through two sets of rotors in 20K miles due to pad deposits on the rotors. Yes I bedded them in correctly. I even tried a different rotor from the stock rotors the second time and still had uneven pad deposition leading to brake shudder. In addition I find the pedal effort to be very high even after the pad warms up. I now am trying the Axis Deluxe pads to see if I have better luck with them.

Tony I have to think that there is a mechanical issue causing your problem.A sticky piston and/or a warped rotor. My car was brand new when,by chance and for performance/dust reasons,I changed the OEM Pagids at 15,000 and found unusual wear at the inner right front pad.Almost nothing left.
Just did the B service,21,450 and the porters are looking as fat as they were 6000 miles ago.
Another missed problem with rotors is if you wash the car when they are hot. They can warp real fast if cold water hits em.

Stemags: I'll be sure to measure pad thickness when I replace my rotors and install the Axxis pads. I haven't noticed anything unusual during the prior two brake jobs which I did myself. I have replaced the rotors each time I have done pad changes, and the rotors seem fine for a few months and then the brake shudder starts again.
As far as damaging the rotors during washes, I always wash the car myself first thing in the morning so as not to spray water on hot rotors.
