New to the forum.
got questions on my 97 300 d
80k miles on it.
Been sitting in the driveway for 8 years never used.
Wondering if it can be fixed up and used. Any estimate on what it will cost to fix it to make it drivable and what all needs to be changed?

Hard to tell.... obviously battery's shot. You'll want to do a complete fluid flush. Then it's just a matter of systematic check for leaks, rust, corrosion, wiring, plugs, etc.

Welcome please post picture of your ride. As above change all fluids and battery. Check brake pads also. I am sure the tire rubber is cracking so the tires will probably need to be changed also.
