Are Infinity speakers better than stock Bose/Name of a shop in LA??
This is addressed to those of you that know about audio, particularly those of you that have listened to the stock original equipment sound.
I have the Bose system in my 2002 e430. I have read here about using Focal and MB Quart speakers, which are high end. Would Infinity speakers ie 6 1/2" woofers in the front door, tweeter in the dash (not in the triangle in the A pillar), and a 4" mid in the rear door, and putting two 8" subs in the rear deck, be a worthwhile improvement over the stock speakers? I am planning on keeping the original head unit because in the 2002 its all fiberoptically connected and I want to use the steering controls.
Or is it basically a waste of money unless I go high end. The problem is that I don't know how to do the work myself (don't laugh please) and I have to go somewhere to have it done. At the high end shops, they want like $3000-4000. I can get Infinity at shops like Good Guys.
Finally, I know people have posted before but the names of a really good shop in LA, preferably west side, with the name of a person, who knows MB and could do a good job would be really appreciated.

Go Bruins!!!
How come we always lost to SC these a couple of years. Damn it.
E-mail me, I don't know too much about the audio but my friend does. I personally think Bose is good enough.

b/c SC is da ****.
oh yea, you can consider Focal, but i wouldn't recommend the top of the line utopia. i have utopia components, and the highs are way too sharp for my ears. i think the polykevlar line is good enuff. that's about 1/2 the price of the utopia.. and the quality is very good. check the 165K (6.5") and the 136K (5.3")
for 6.5 and 5.3 components, they shouldn't run you over $1000. call up Audio Options, they have good pricing.
