Mercedes e430

Hi my name is Ray and I'm new to this site, I have been reading a lot of good questions and answers, and the site is very informative, I have been doing some research on changing the ATF on my 1999 E430 and would like to know if febi ATF Nr 29449 is compatible with this vehicle. I do not know what type of transmission is in the car other that it's a 5 speed auto. The site for the ATF confirmed that this is a fit but I would like a second opinion, if someone has any input on this I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

I just used OEM MB fluid when I did mine. It costs more, but you don't change it often. There are compatible fluids and they are likely fine, but the transmissions in these cars seem to be hyper sensitive in the transmission area and not worth taking chances with in my opinion. Someone obviously makes it for Mercedes but there is an additive spec determined by mercedes that may vary by brands. A transmission failure will render your car worthless in the world of book values.

Thank you very much for replying, yes I bought this Mercedes from a friend and I have been working on it since then, nothing major just changing all the fluid if needed and doing a lot of research just to get it right. This Mercedes runs real good and its fast, bought it with 137.000 miles on it in 2016 for 3800.00 it did have a couple of missing things, like spare tire and jack and no CD magazine, but I have acquired these items since. Well again thank you for replying. Ray
