remove secondary cats & resonator, what xpipe & muffler to use
Well I have the dreaded secondary cat rattle can issue, but good news is that I get to get rid of them with the x-pipe, resonator delete upgrade.
I also hear people say how good our mufflers are, however I would like more sound. So, what would be a good performance muffler alternative not super loud and where can I source it? Also, where do I get the x-pipe?
btw my car is a 2001 E55 - gratuitous pic below
Thanks for your help,
Rodney

I ended up finding a great muffler shop in Phoenix called performance muffler. He had the x-pipe in stock, for 40$. Only charged $140 total with x pipe for removal of cats and resonator and x pipe install! Sounds great now!

If you do a cat delete, and x pipe you will notice significantly more sound. I would try that with the stock muffler first.

Another update...
This is was well worth the money, there is definitely more power being generated. My car is quicker at all stages and sounds great.
Stop thinking about this and do it.
