1997 e320 P0715 check engine limp mode
hello guys i recently bought a 1997 e320 one owner car with 67k miles on it og. amazing car very sturdy interior looks sparkling. well drove it for a month never turned the ac on. decided to last week on a saturday. 8 mile drive ac blasting almost home get a check engine electronics and notice tranny is stuck with high rpm and very slow and sluggish. it being a satuday no mechanics were open so i pulled over turned it off and back on turned the ac off check engine still there but no limp mode. drive to autozone and they scan p0715 error. so it clears and works fine for a week. yesterday i decide to drive and blast ac and whola tranny stuck in limp but no check engine. now is this an ac issue or a tranny issue. again car only has 67k miles on it!!!!! looks and drives brand new. check engine p0715

Do a forum search - low mileage like yours has very uncertain prior service.
1. Buy MB/Mopar "tranny adapter plug" $12/$14- genuine MB only - not China/retail-no-name - do a search for replacement procedure
2. Buy a can of MAF cleaner ($9) - do a forum search for pulling/claning TCM - tranny control moduie
3. Research and consider correct/proper basic transmission service - do forum search
Your tranny is the soft spot you need to address 1st - since correct diagnosis/repair/service is the 1st step to get you out to 267K miles.
Aircon can be deatl with separately - 1st things 1st
