Weird transmission incident
2002 E320 RWD 190,000 miles
I had a very odd incident occur when driving recently. I noticed seemingly out of nowhere traveling at 45 mph I went to accelerate and there was significantly reduced power available. Accelerating from a light was very slow and seemed to take a lot more effort than usual to press down the pedal and move. I pulled over and turned car off and put transmission into drive and heard a horrible clunk sound from the car. I tried to toggle the shifter to 4,3,2,1 etc and the display on dash did not show the aforementioned gears as it normally would when switching to fourth etc. Turning car back on it seemed ok but when acclerating it was like gears were slipping and the car would hesitate through them or something and it was jerky. Ever since then it seems 'fine' again. Wondering if anyone had experienced anything like this. Very strange.

and no matter what some members could tell you - you don't need to post VIN for that.
