Steering Wheel controls on E430
My E430 has a beige "leather" steering wheel. The buttons which operate volume and display selection are made of a kind of grippy rubbery material.
Somehow during cleaning, I guess these buttons got sprayed with something that they did not like because now they are permanently sticky. If you try to wipe them they grip the cloth and it starts to pull the surface. Although I only use approved interior cleaners it seems that something has destabilized the material and it just stays permanently sticky.
So, the obvious question is, how do I get it back to the original non-sticky state? They always felt slightly clingy because they have an anti-slip surface but if this continues I am going to wear away the entire surface. Any bright ideas that won't rot them?
Thanks for the help

This method will remove the stickiness but it will also remove the factory rubber material leaving a smooth plastic button that is not 100% stock but anyone who didn't know about the original coating won't even notice. If you do this put some tape around the buttons to protect the leather from the cleaner.
