I replaced the instrument cluster on my 2000 E320 because it failed. The new cluster works. All the gauges work, the message center and ambient temperature led's work. The clock led doesn't light up. The message center has 3 malfunctions. Display defective with a zig zag. Tele Aid SOS. Steering gear oil visit workshop. Does the car have to be calibrated at the dealer?

Assuming you replaced the IC with the same part number, you need it coded to the car. Assuming you did not use the same part number and the IC has functions that are not apart of your VIN---you are foooooooooookd----what did you do?
