what should the 2 posts on the alternator read on voltage setting of a voltmeter

1922 Ford Model T / no OBD
I think the big one is connected directly to the battery and smaller one is connected to ignition-operated relay.
So with ignition on I would expect both of them to read car voltage, although not sure how electronic controls work.

Depending on the condition of the alternator you should see 14+ volts.
