Few issues with my 99 E320

I'm new to Benz and wasn't sure if all of them do it.
From a stationary position the car picks up fine, but if i'm in traffic or let go of the gas and then press the gas again it does a very slight knock, like if you are on a bicycle and start paddling a running bike the chain kinda kicks in.
The car is still under warranty so I can get it fixed. I was thinking maybe test drive a new Benz to reassure myself, but thought I'd check here first.

Second problem: If i'm stuck in traffic the temp guage start going up past 80 to almost 100. When the traffic opens up and I start driving it comes back down to the center line. I was wondering if that's normal or maybe the guage is faulty. Haven't tried the A/C codes to check the exact engine temperature yet.

Hello Tofi, I have '99, I also can feel the same "knock" too. This a great question. As for the temp gauge readings, my car does not seem to react the same as yours.

Come on, nobody knows that the issue could be with the transmission (atleast that's what i think it is). And its probably in the 2nd or 3rd gear.
