EMERGENCY!! (Alternator question)
My car is in a parking lot. I NEED AN ALTERNATOR IN THE NEXT 6 HOURS or all shops will be closed. Will a 2003 E320 (w211) alternator fit a 2001 E320 (W210) alternator? I know the w211 alternator has a higher amp and I dont think thatll harm the vehicle. I need to know if the deminsions are the same!

Multiple alternators available depending upon Vehicle Identification Number. Primary difference between the 2003 and 2001 is as follows:
2001 alternator MB OEM: 011-154-27-02, 120 amp alternator.
2003 alternator MB OEM: 014-154-01-02, 150 amp alternator.
If your car has a Valeo alternator a Bosch may not be a direct replacement.
This looks like a time when you have the car towed home and use the Electronic Parts Catalog to identify the alternator that will fit your car. If you post your VIN one of us here can look up the part numbers that apply to your car. A few posts on the BenzWorld forum indicate the alternators are interchangeable but the question is not definitively answered.
