Takes a lickin...
Last night I'm at my favorite Italian restaurant picking up potato crusted sea bass at the "TO GO" window, when an imbecile in a 01 Ford Taurus backs right into Merci (yes, I name all of my cars) anyway the impact is so loud people run out of the restaurant to see if I'm ok. Sooooo I take a deep breath, step out of my vehicle only to see the bumper lifted from the taurus, and the paint stripped down to a metallic looking primed finish.
Merci merely had blue paint from the taurus, and a few bumper gash's too deep to buff out. The bystanders were stunned..! That taurus looked as though it had been in a major fender bender, while Merci sat there huffing at the indignity of having FORD paint on her bumper.
The guy was so mad, he told me he was getting rid of it for a MB the second it is released from the repair shop. I don't know about other parts of that car, but those Mercedes bumpers can take a lickin....!!

Agreed - the same for the AMG bumpers too! 
stupid ricer Impreza stopped without warning at an intersection (so we were slow) - kissed his a$$.......put a massive hole in his fibreglass bumper (where the metal frame attached to the FG)......only paint on my bumper (and an ever so small a dent in the PU but not noticeable) Funny part was when I suggested to call the cops, he simply shrugged and left...obviously having problems with the law, lol!

That kind of reinforces the reports and pics of the German cop w210's rapped from the rear at 90mph,,,and the cabin is intact... or that dude Dave remembers who sent his E hurtling into a tree on the driver's side,,he walked away too.,,unreal what lengths some people will go to for attention

The other guy's insurance corp sent the adjuster out today - he had just left from surveying the Ford Taurus. The adjuster was driving a VW Passat, he stepped out of his car laughing - he told me he had just left the other guy. Basically my bumper would merely need buffing. painting and blending.
The area were the seams meet the back bumper have 3 indentations which weren't actually indentations, but the Ford's bubbled paint. I took the car to the MB body shop - they agree.
He said the guy who hit me went on and on about the minimal damage to my car. The adjuster said he told him "next time you may want to buy German". LOL
