OIL ABOVE MAX LEVEL ALERT!!!!

Hello everyone,

I'm new here and very happy to be part of the forum.

I have been having weird problems lately with my E430:

I'm having an alert on my dashboard : oil above max level.

I was going 60 mph (90 km/h), been driving for 15 miles then this alarm came on. when I cancel the alarm, then its ok. This has happened to me 2 times. first time, I had the car towed to a Mercedes dealer in Miami and they looked at it, found nothing so they took some oil out. 2 weeks after, I had the same alarm again!!

Any ideas what is causing this?

I did not check it but the car was and is not leaking oil.... guess I will start to do that!

When the engine is full of oil, where should the indication be on the dipstick? Different engines, different specs sometimes......

Assuming the dip stick level is indicating full you then have a faulty oil level sensor-----if the dip stick indicates below full then you have a bad oil level sensor.

To view the oil level remove the dipstick and without your sun glasses on look at the bottom portion of the stick----wada you see----if you see nothing that could indicate oil level -----sell the car and use Uber.
