My W210 E55 needs body work
I have a 2001 E55 Brilliant Silver Metallic (744). I am in need of front/rear bumper cover refinishing. As well as hood and trunk work. I just realized that paint 744 is nearly impossible to find. And that Iridium Silver is now the primary paint offered. Has anyone had their cars fully or partially resprayed that with the newer paint? Or do most shops use a generic silver?
Also, how do the bumper covers hold up with body filler? I have a nice gash on the lower part of my bumper and other scrapes from over the years from a steep driveway.

Id be interested in the input too. Im kinda in the same boat.
What I have been told is that most everyone uses PPG paint, but there could be a few different shades of silver making the matching and blending the tricky part especially for silver. Any panel that needs work usually needs a whole respray with blend into another panel.
