Exclamation Cleaned Intake Manifold!

This morning the "ENGINE CHECK" occured. After examed from dealer, they said my car needed to clean the carbon deposit in the intake valve, upper part of combustion area, fuel injectors...etc. Anyone experienced it??? How much did it cost for it??

Re: Cleaned Intake Manifold!

Put four (4) bottle of Chevon Techron into a full tank, and run til the tank is near empty. Should do the job.

If you get a hold of some product called BG or something (only dealer has it, I can't seem to find it anywhere), it's even better. Dynamic Perfomance / Best Bnz (Manhattan Beach, CA) put it in my car. The car now run much much better (the difference is VERY obvious), and I get about 20 more mile per gas tank.

You will have to reset the check engine light after all is done. Unplug the battery is the quickest way

1 can of BG does the trick! I usually get my service tech to leave a can in the trunk for those sluggish days.

What was the code exactly?

Did they tell you that?

Why four bottles of Techron?????

I had a car I picked up once that would drive great for 10 minutes and then start to stumble on acceleration. I put ONE bottle of techron in and within 5 minutes it was driving like a champ.

Redline is awesome too.

Question

DAS checked. "idle speed selfadaptation abnormal".
They said the intake manifold needed to clean.
Just by pouring the fuel system cleaner in the tank would not clean the throttle area and the entire intake manifold.

Curious to know if anyone here had their intake manifold cleaned before? ( every 3000mile, I add one bottle of fuel cleaning system in fuel tank)

Did you ask over here?

http://www.mercedesshop.com/shopforum/index.php3?s=

There is a lot more knowledge over there. You need an answer from a tech, and there is a couple over there that can help you.

Engine Check occured this week again.
This morning replaced a new MAS control unit with $600.
They said the V6 engine's MAS failed every 2~3 years, is that true??

You gotta be kidding ? The MAS cost about $230, and take less than 5 min to install (my dealer did it for me for free, it's simpler than replacing air filter, and take 1 seconds to reset the computer).

Unfortunately, the MAS on the M112 & M113 engine are very sensitive: they help to fine tune the engine very well, but tend to go kapub every 60K mile or so.

This was the cost for MAS to be replaced here in Taiwan from the DaimlerChrysler Taiwan. With 2 years warranty.
Just envy you guys living in the US that cars and car parts can be purchase with very reasonable prices.

And I would have thought someone in Taiwan could have copied the MB design for the part you need and cost you about $20.00 Kind of like an English Wool suit in Hong Kong for $100.00 and delivered to you in six hours custom tailored and all. Guess not .
