Replacements for factory HID headlamp assemblies.

I recently picked up a 2002 e320 wagon (facelift 210) and I can't find HID headlamps to replace the factory HID headlamps. I want the clear projector ones, similar to w211 lights, like the ones you see all over Amazon and Ebay. Problem is all the ones I find are halogen. Anyone know where I can find some? I don't like the look of the factory lights with all the crinkled reflectors/plastic and the lens' on mine are all etched and yellowing. Thanks

A gaggle of MB's
Please understand you can clean/polish those lenses ti like new - the yellowing is the surface coating - do a search - even a Walmart auto center can clean them up affordably

I understand that they can be polished and I've seen factory hids in like new condition on several cars at the shop (I've been a MB tech for about 5 years) I like the look of the crystal clear lens vs the stock MB lens, regardless of condition. The ones I've found so far are for upgrading from halogen to HID, not for simply replacing factory HID with a "euro" style clear lens unit. So I don't think they'll work or if they'll have the auto level mechanism in them

they don't exist as a simply plug n play swap and while maintaining the auto-leveling. technically, that is illegal in nearly
all USA jurisdictions, for one thing. so the only thing you can try if you want to retain autoleveling, is to retrofit your
headlight.

if you don't care about autolevel, then you can buy something like the Asian Depo brand aftermarket headlight assembly
which is a poor-to-mediocre HID clear outer lens design which will run you about $250. from there, you can add a ghetto,
cheap *** HID rebased H7 to D2S HID bulb/ballast for about $50. The result will be HID uncontrolled glare due to the
poor R&D design of the Asian projector. also illegal for US street use

If you care about light beam/quality, then you move up in parts and design by sourcing a factory take off bi/xenon projector
and in freehand, experimental fashion, affix that into the Depo headlight. That should produce a very good quality light
and beam pattern. the assemblage of parts will add another $2-500 depending on parts selection, new/used, etc AS WELL
AS test your skill in fabrication, creating a projector mount, adjustment points etc. also illegal for US street use

Good ideas, thanks for the info. I was thinking about buying some cheap clear lens lights, the $250 ones, and just swapping lenses out. But I like to DIY so I might try your suggestion. I recently replaced the headlights in my B5S4 with new factory ones, cracked lenses, maybe I can use those projectors
