2001 E430 4m limp mode and other problems

I just started experiencing some issues with my E430 4matic. I bought the car over a month ago to keep as a winter beater/extra car. It was in limp mode. I changed out the conductor plate and then the shifter which was actually the problem in the first place. The car was fine until 2 nights ago. I was idling in front of my shop the other night and my passenger headlight went out. Changed the fuse but it kept blowing them. Noticed on my drive home that my turn signals didn't work. Along with the turn signals, the horn, wiper, rear defrost and hazards no longer work. I get to my shop the next day to try and figure this out. I park the car shortly and then go to start it and the ESP, BAS; ABS and BRAKE lights come on the dash. Now my shifter is stuck in park and I get it out by pressing the lock out switch. Soon as I put it into gear it's the dreaded limp mode slam shift. I hook up my Autel DS708 scanner and check for codes.

ESM - electronic selector module
P1876- The signals sent by control unit N47 (Traction systems control module) for wheel speeds and braking torque are not available on the CAN bus.

it's showing multiple codes for the engine, which was running perfectly without codes prior to this Showing multiple o2 sensors as well as air pump relay.

Ignition switch
B1059 - Fault in CAN communication with control unit N10/1 (Signal acquistion and actuation module (SAM) driver side)

Instrument cluster
B1101 - Fault in CAN communication with control unit N47-5 (ESP control module unit)

B1111 - Fault in CAN communication with control unit A35/8 (TELE AID control unit)

Now when I try to connect with the (BAS - Brake assist) and (Traction systems ABS, ASR, ETS, ESP) I'll get the message "Tester not communicating with control unit"

i've done lots of searching before starting this thread. Some people were saying it could be a ground issue or a broken wire. Where would the grounds be that I should check? I'm thinking I have a faulty ESP module. I'm really stumped with this. I've owned my 01 E55 for a few years and it's been problem free, figured I would have the same luck with the E430.

Forgot to add that the battery voltage is fine, stays between 13.9 and 14 volts with the front defroster and radio on. And the steering also feels heavier than before.

becuase of the broad symptoms, why don't you check the huge weak spot under the rear seat where the
car battery is located. look for ANY signs of moisture, be it water, corrosion, wet PSE foam surround,
fuse, relays etc report back. there isn't any easy way but to systematically check...and it may be from
both ends, ie not zeroing in on the possible causes....but also to isolate and rule out what it isn't.

the compartment where the batter resides has a way of attracting water due to it's strategically poor
low point where water can drain into and impact the electronics in one swoop (draining in from trunk,
roof, doors....)

I'll take a look tomorrow when I go to my shop. I cleaned all the connectors and contacts on all of the modules last night and reconnected everything today. The car was fine again. I parked it outside and it was pouring rain and it went into limp mode again. Now I'm thinking water could be getting inside somewhere.

There was no water in the battery compartment. I'm going to thr junkyard later and I'm going to grab a few modules and see if that might work.
