w210 97 E320 fuel filter change

Hi all, Can anyone tell me if a fuel filter change on a 97 E320 is easy enough to do myself or if I should take it to a pro mechanic. I've read that it's a pretty easy job to do so I'll most likely want to do it myself. It's next to the rear differential right? Any advice on how to get to it and if there are any tricky spots I may encounter during the change. Any advice is greatly appreciated...

The Fuel Filter is a Easy Job !
Jack up the rear of the car..place jack stands under the jack pads, remove the plastic cover at the fuel pump/filter
Then release the pressure in the system ...crack the line open..
replace the filter and restart checking for any leaks..

fuel filter follow up

One question I also forgot to include... when I remove the old fuel filter, will the gas in the tank start to spill all over the place? Is there a shut off somewhere or is this not an issue?

open the gas cap to release gas line pressure. you can leave the car running and pull the fuel relay so there is little gas in the line. Usually, it's not needed. You can use a pen cap to plug the fuel line when you pull off the filter.
