Headlight wiring harness repair or replacement
My W210 with Xenon's have been acting up and my wires are frayed really bad. Is there a decent aftermarket replacement for these harness or is there a DIY out to replace the wires and connectors?

I pulled the headlight assemblies from my car, removed the internal wire harness of each, then replaced each wire individually (only one at a time!). I cut approximately 1" to 1.5" from the connector, then slid heat shrink tubing over the wire away from the splice, twisted and soldered the wire, then slid the heat shrink tubing over the splice and shrunk it to insulate the splice.
Cheapest way to get the wire is to buy a trailer wire extension harness. ~$10 for four each wires of different colors. Took me about an hour per harness to do it correctly. Use tape or permanent marker to give yourself additional "colors"; you can see the white wire above on which I drew a line using black permanent marker.
I have a post on the other forum showing how to remove the headlights and swap out lenses. Download my writeup here: https://www.benzworld.org/forums/w21...l#post10898154

The Amazon harness is for HID headlights. EPC shows that harness used primarily with the E320 and E430. Models in which the Amazon harness were used are:
W210.265/282/026/065/070/074/082/083. The W210.074 is the E55; the harness would be used in this model if the car were equipped with HID headlights.
The harness in the photo I posted is for a Bi-Xenon with auto-level adjustment. You can tell by the double connector on the right that has the connector for the stepper motors.
EPC shows part number:
A 210-540-52-13 for the xenon headlight harness up to VIN A698507 except for code 809. Later VINs with code 808 still use this cable.
A 210-540-77-35 for the xenon headlight harness as of VIN A698508 *and* used in vehicles up to VIN A698507 with code 809.
The photo of above is of the A 210-540-77-35 harness used in my car.

I ordered the harness from Amazon that the other poster mentioned. I have been eyeballing it for a while. Wanted to build my own but the crimping connectors for the sockets are hard to identify. We'll see what happens.

So went ahead and got the harness from Amazon posted in one of the replies. It looks to be good quality from the appearance. However, I am going to need to remove one of the H7 sockets and connect the black pigtail connector for the Xenons. Not a deal breaker. However, my old hardness had a 5AMP fuse that went to the parking lights and the H7 highbeams. Does this seem normal for anyone else?

Hi - I have a urgent issue on my W210 parking light "Checklamp defective"
I replace the wiring harness inside the headlamp by soldering new set of aftermarket wiring (14awg, high temperature wire).
Now all bulb (H6W parking light, D2R HID low beam, H7 High Beam) lights but I keep receiving dashboard error which I ponder is the parking lights.
Someone told me it has inline fuse resistor or something inside the wiring, but I cut them and soldered new pairs.
I tried to add resistor but all return me checklamp defective, really frustrating:-
2W, 100ohm -> Not light, I think resistance is too high
2W, 40ohm -> light but dashboard error
2W, 20ohm -> light but dashboard error
2W, 10ohm -> light but dashboard error
I use multimeter to measure H6W has 2.2 ohm. I started thinking it is not due to resistance, do you have any tips/idea how to fix it.
I also looking up to buy new set of wiring harness aftermarket.
Thanks.
