I know you mention carpeted, but I love my Weathertech floor mats. I have them in my E320 and E63. The fit is perfect with them.

IMHO the best solution is to get Genuine all season Mercedes W210 black rubber floor mats. I have got mine from amazon and the quality and fitment is perfect. Here is the link:

Living in dry climates, I love factory mats and had couple of them in tan color. They clean amazingly easy and last for over 10 years.
With W210 the issue is that they don't have holding pegs and if you don't use MB clips to hold them, they get wear from folding on firewall.
That said, even coming from model with different floor, they still do decent fit and newer mats have nice logos on them.
I would seek JY for a set, or even buy set on ebay from newer model.
