service

Hi everyone,

I have 57K miles on my 97 E420 and am coming up on an oil change. Do I need to go to the dealership for this? Also, do I need to get another service (A or B) done right now or at 60K miles.

Sorry about the questions, I'm new at this. What do you guys think.

Thanks in advance.

Re: service

for 60K mile, change oil (synthetic), air filter, put in a bottle or two of Techron or KBG (spell ??), and you're good for another 60K mile.

No need to have dealer ripping you off w/ that stupid A/B service. They're not doing anything special.

1999 E430
Hey,

Is there general "cleansing"/service that is recommended for an E-class Mercedes that is approaching 100K miles? Ie. is there a special one-time service it needs to go through... flushing of fluids, spark plugs, filters, belts, etc?

I have a 99 E430, and I've been doing the A/B services since I bought it with 30K miles.

Thanks,
George

With 60k I would Do the oil change with filter/fuel filter/air filter/TRANSMISSION service with filter
Brake fluid flush and change the coolant and a Mono belt..
The plugs are good til 100k

The items are listed in the service manual

Mark

I just had my car through major service (90K mile). As the matter of fact, this's the first service being done to my car, ever !!.

The shop didn't change the plugs and wire though. They show me the plug, and told me that they're in good condition, no need to replace.

Should I change anyway ? The shop is really good (Best Benz, Manhanttan Beach). They change everything else though (flush transmission, all filter, oil & fluid changes, injector cleanning...).

Could it be that the Techron that I often use help the injector & plug be this clean ?

Car runs fine, I avg about 22 mpg, so have not much to complain.
