How much extra oil did you pour in? Too much oil can do bad things to the engine. Foaming of the oil occurs, this can push oil into the intake. Foam will not pump as well by the oil pump so parts in the top of the engine may wear more due to a lack of oil. Foaming is caused by the motion of the engine making air bubbles in the oil. Air does not have much of a lubricating ability. Also, too much oil can increase oil pressure causing failure to various seals and gaskets.

I always thought that the difference between Min and Max levels was 1 quart or in the case of a German car, 1 liter. A liter is slightly more than a quart so you are safe if you add one at a time and check the level after each one. You should hear a lot more clatter if there is too much oil because of the foaming. You could draw out a half a quart if you had a top-sider.

if it's just a little bit over, it shouldn't be a prolem.

If it's a lot over, you risk chance of blowing head gasket (oil pressure too high). On top of this, the I-6 you have is known to be vulnerable to head-gasket problem.

You don't have to drain all the oil. Lot of shop have device that suck oil out.

It doesn't sound like you are that far over the MAX line. It sounds like you would be ok. Just listen for any extra noise from the valves. A real problem would be if you were more than a liter over.
